this post is for all of you who see a corduroy skirt and think “that’s cute, but i don’t know how to wear it.” I’ve put together three different outfits all from the same corduroy skirt that comes in a few different colors that show you how to wear a corduroy skirt. these corduroy skirts are a fall closet staple, and there are many different ways to style them. from a preppy look, to a trendy casual look, to an elevated night out outfit, these corduroy skirts have an abundance of potential if you give them (and yourself) a chance!
the green color of this corduroy skirt is just so beautiful for the upcoming holidays. i’ve paired it here with a green and navy plaid turtle neck sweater and high rise black boots, but i would also recommend black tights for those colder winter days. this look is ultra preppy, but it can be toned down by eliminating the pearl accessories if they just aren’t your thing and wearing a solid color turtleneck.

this outfit collage is a great inspiration for how to dress up a corduroy skirt — this outfit is a perfect fall date night out or thanksgiving dinner outfit. i’ve paired it here with a beautiful black and orange blouse. admittedly, on its own, this blouse is not my favorite (as i’m not a huge fan of black and orange, ha!), but i’ve toned it down with tan accessories and gold jewelry that really highlight the warmth of the orange. if this blouse isn’t your thing either, pair this outfit with a chunky cream sweater instead.

maybe one of my favorite outfits i’ve done in a while because its understated but so incredibly creative and innovative. it’s foundations — black boots, a striped sweater, corduroy skirt, and vest — are elements that you likely already have in your closet. this is a trendy but casual way to way a corduroy skirt that is is a little more youthful and fun with the pop of hot pink, striped sweater and trendy sunglasses and purse. this purse comes in a variety of colors, too, so if you are feeling ultra trendy, try pairing it with the teal or lime green one for an extra pop of color. this look would also pair well with black tights in the winter as it gets colder. if you’re looking to dress this outfit up, eliminate the sunglasses, pair it with black high heel leather booties and trade in the vest for a long black winter coat.
